A Learning Collaborative (LC) is a critical component to creating a network. The purpose of the Learning Collaboratives is to engage CA H&SS provider and physician participants in the process of shared learning and experiences to facilitate implementation of services, assist with procedural changes, and provide opportunities for interactive problem solving. Six regional Learning Collaboratives have been established which meet on a quarterly basis, primarily as face-to-face meetings. Topics and quality improvement measures have been carefully selected by the CA H&SS Advisory Group to promote improved access to MAT and monitor the data quality indicators. CEs and CMEs available for certified and licensed participants. Live sessions are open to H&SS network providers only; materials are publicly available at the links below.

As an extension of the Learning Collaboratives and trainings, ongoing technical assistance is provided through the Project ECHO web-based case consultation mechanism. Project ECHO is a lifelong learning and guided practice model that revolutionizes medical education and exponentially increases workforce capacity to provide best-practice specialty care and reduce health disparities. The heart of the ECHO model™ is its hub-and-spoke knowledge-sharing networks, led by expert teams who use multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers. In this way, primary care doctors, nurses, and other clinicians learn to provide excellent specialty care to patients in their own communities. For the CA H&SS project, 1-hour sessions are conducted monthly, led by medical and addiction experts with a curriculum specific to the needs of the CA H&SS program and providers. CEs and CMEs available for certified and licensed participants. Live sessions are open to H&SS network providers only; materials are publicly available at the links below.
