Center for Opioid Receptors and Drugs of Abuse (CSORDA)
The NIDA-supported Center for Opioid Receptors and Drugs of Abuse (CSORDA), resides in the Shirley and Stefan Hatos Center within the Jane & Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. CSORDA investigates opioid systems at the molecular, cellular and behavioral levels. Although the collaborative research of the Center is primarily concerned with the action of opioids, individual faculty have research programs investigating brain nicotinic receptors (Jim Boulter), regulation of the immune system (Chris Evans), the action of psychostimulants (Nigel Maidment), memory processes associated with aging (Cui-Wei Xie), and neurotransmitter transporters (David Krantz).
