Patrick Gauthier is Director of Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) Healthcare Solutions and a highly sought-after expert on the design and effective deployment of policies and programs that properly align the resources and incentives of health and behavioral health payers, providers, and consumers. Over the course of more than 25 years in the behavioral health field and managed care sector, Mr. Gauthier has held management positions in various treatment settings and served as chief operating officer and chief marketing officer for a national managed behavioral health care organization. His work includes tackling issues related to health care law, rules, and regulations; developing integrated delivery systems and provider networks; behavioral health business planning and implementation; Medicaid managed care plan operations; health informatics and analytics; and value-based reimbursement.

Ms. Lawson, a Program Associate at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), graduated from Loyola University Chicago ('17) with a degree in Psychology, where she also published research about adolescent disability. Ms. Lawson began her career as an outreach social worker for low-income adults with severe mental illnesses (SMI) and substance-use disorders (SUD). This frontline exposure inspired an interest in policy analysis and technical assistance work, first at a small nonprofit in Chicago and now at AHP. Her professional interests are in the areas of mental health service delivery, trauma-informed care, mental health parity, and health policy (i.e. Medicaid and Medicare). In the fall of 2020, Ms. Lawson will be attending the University of Michigan to pursue her Master of Health Services Administration ('22).

Ms. Miller, a Senior Research Associate at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), has more than 30 years of experience working with communities and systems to improve the lives of individuals with multiple vulnerabilities. She was the founding Executive Director of the New Hampshire Taskforce on Women & Recovery, nationally recognized advocates for the service needs of women and girls dealing with addiction, trauma, domestic violence, and justice system involvement. At AHP, she served as lead writer and content expert for the SAMHSA-funded Decisions in Recovery: Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders, a web-based shared decision-making tool on medication-assisted treatment, as part of SAMHSA's Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy.

Serves as Webinar Producer for the Seriess

Mr. Stewart serves as a Virtual Solutions Associate for Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), supporting and producing virtual learning events from their registration through execution of the live event. Mr. Stewart's responsibilities include planning the events and liaising with AHP staff and the diverse number of presenters and organizations who participate in Adobe Connect and other event manager meetings. These meetings range from single-digit workgroups to large webinars and learning communities that draw hundreds to thousands of participants from multiple organizations and communities around the world. Mr. Stewart provides live event production support, advises on event engagement strategies, and series development support. He is responsible for pre-event coordination, including the promotion of event registration through creating event landing pages, building event-related quizzes, and facilitating technical dry-runs. During the live events, he works with presenters and attendees to address all technical issues promptly, ensuring a positive learning experience for participants. Additionally, he handles event post-production, remediating documents for AHP's 508 compliance team to the federal standards set in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0, AA (WCAG 2.0 AA), and aids in the production of digital media products such as eLearning courses, podcasts, videos and websites.

Kathleen West, MPH, DrPH

Serves as Project Director for the Seriess

Kathleen West serves as a Senior Program Manager at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP) and is a public health professional who works with providers and programs addressing at-risk families, intergenerational trauma, mental health, and addiction and treatment issues. In her career of 30+ years, Kathleen has worked closely with judicial, law enforcement, mental health, health, social services, and child welfare systems to help develop trauma-responsive policies, services and sustainable evidence-based practices that promote equity, well-being, and justice. Her focus has been on how various systems of human services work within communities to strengthen vulnerable populations and build resilience. Particular populations of interest include pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorders and their families, military, veterans and National Guard and their families, and underserved communities impacted by illegal drug distribution. Dr. West also teaches global health research methods and disaster/emergency response preparedness to graduate students at the USC Keck Medical School, Department of Preventive Medicine, and serves as a consultant with groups focusing on public mental health and treatment services, especially in the context of Collaborative Courts. She has also taught military social work at the UCLA Department of Social Welfare.
