Gloria Miele, PhD is the Chair of UCLA ISAP's Continuing Education Committee and Program Director at UCLA's Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP). She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and helps lead training and technical assistance initiatives on opioid and other substance use disorders for California's health care workforce. From 2001-2016, she was Training Director for NIDA's Clinical Trials Network's Greater New York Node, where she designed, developed and delivered training for national multisite effectiveness trials. She was Instructor of Clinical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons for 20 years. She is co-author of Trauma Services for Women in Substance Abuse Treatment: An Integrated Approach (APA Press, 2010), as well as dozens of peer-reviewed and other publications. She volunteers for a variety of non-profits and boards, including the Scientific Advisory Board for the International Center on Responsible Gaming (ICRG). Other interests include leadership development in nonprofit and healthcare settings and self-care for helping professionals.

Larissa Mooney, M.D. is an Associate Professor and Director of the Addiction Psychiatry Division in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. She directs the UCLA Addiction Psychiatry Clinic and the UCLA-VA Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program, where she teaches psychiatrists in training in the clinical management of substance use and mental health disorders. Dr. Mooney previously served as the Section Chief for Substance Use Disorders at the Greater Los Angeles VA. She is the President of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP), a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and a fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Dr. Mooney has conducted research at UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) on pharmacological and behavioral treatment interventions for addictive disorders. She is one of two Principal Investigators for the Greater Southern California Node of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Clinical Trials Network. She has current NIDA funding to study functional outcomes in cannabis users and treatment interventions for opioid use disorder and stimulant use disorder.

Thomas E. Freese received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1995. He is currently and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Co-Director of the UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP), and Co-Director of the Pacific Southwest (HHS Region 9) Addictions Technology Transfer Center (PSATTC), funded by SAMHSA. Formerly, Dr. Freese served as ISAP Director of Training for 20 years. He has conducted trainings on a wide variety of topics including methamphetamine use, addressing the opioid epidemic, medication assisted treatment, culturally responsive care for LGBTQ individuals, implementing integrated treatment, adolescent behavioral health, and implementing evidence-based treatment practices (CBT, CM, MI, CRA). Dr. Freese has been a featured presenter and has developed training for conferences and meetings across the US and internationally.

Beth Rutkowski received her Master of Public Health degree, with an emphasis on epidemiology and quantitative methods, from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Public Health. She has been associated with UCLA's Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) since December 2000, and currently serves as the Director of Training and Co-Director of the SAMHSA-supported Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Training Center. The majority of Ms. Rutkowski's time is focused on the development of synchronous and asynchronous training and intensive technical assistance curricula and training packages focused on evidence-based substance use disorder research and targeted to the community at large. In addition, she organizes and conducts conferences and trainings throughout the Pacific Southwest region (HHS Region 9, covering AZ, CA, HI, NV, and the six U.S. Affiliated Pacific Jurisdictions) on scientifically validated interventions and topics. Ms. Rutkowski is a NIATx-certified process improvement coach, and has directed several statewide, regional, and local process improvement change project initiatives. Ms. Rutkowski has co-authored and edited numerous peer reviewed research articles, book chapters, special issues, and technical reports on treatment evaluation, research-practice partnerships, process improvement strategies for use in substance use disorder and mental health treatment programs, prescription drug misuse, the epidemiology of methamphetamine and crack cocaine use, synthetic drugs, process improvement strategies to improve client engagement and retention in treatment, SBIRT, HIV and substance use, medications for alcohol and opioid use disorders, best practices in substance use disorder treatment, and local, national, and international drug trends.

James Peck, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and senior clinical trainer at the UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP). For nearly a decade, Dr. Peck conducted Phase II clinical trials of behavioral and pharmacological interventions for stimulant dependence. Dr. Peck has extensive experience conducting curriculum development, clinical trainings, and clinical supervision on the etiology, assessment, and treatment of substance-related disorders, and on the treatment of individuals with co-occurring substance-related and psychiatric disorders. He currently works at UCLA in a primarily clinical training role, and maintains a busy practice treating individuals with co-occurring disorders.

Daniel Dickerson, D.O., M.P.H., Inupiaq, is Associate Research Psychiatrist at UCLA, Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP). He is also an addiction psychiatrist at American Indian Counseling Center in Cerritos California. His research focuses on the development of substance use treatment and prevention programs for Native American youth and adults. He is currently Co-Principal Investigator and Principal Investigator on National Institutes of Health-funded studies that focus on the integration of Native American traditional practices for substance use prevention and treatment interventions.

Brandy T. Oeser, MPH received her Master of Public Health degree in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University. Mrs. Oeser has worked in the field of substance use disorders since 1997 and has been with UCLA ISAP since 2004 where she is currently a Project Director. She has a background in substance use disorder treatment research, and training and technical assistance activities aimed at educating and further developing the substance use disorder treatment workforce. Previously Mrs. Oeser worked for the UCLA Heart Transplant program where she managed clinical trials. Mrs. Oeser has experience with project management, monitoring clinical trials, data collection and analysis, and preparation of reports, manuscripts and presentations for dissemination and publication.

Adrienne Datrice is a Project Director for the Recovery Incentives Program: California's Contingency Management Benefit. Adrienne is a long time Bruin, working for the University for the last two decades, performing office, and project management. A graduate of the UCLA Performance Development Leadership program, Adrienne enjoys learning different methodologies, and collaborating with colleagues across campus.

Julian Simmons is a Training Coordinator primarily working in ISAP's Recovery Incentives Program: California's Contingency Management Benefit, in addition to being a part of ISAP's CME Committee. Julian previously worked as a Student Services Advisor as well as in Admissions Processing for the University of Southern California before returning to his alma mater (Go Bruins!) to join the ISAP Team.

Christian Frable is a project coordinator primarily covering ISAP's State Opioid Response (SOR) training series, including California Hub and Spoke and the Opioid and Stimulant Implementation Support – Training and Technical Assistance (OASIS-TTA) programs. Christian previously worked on clinical pharmacology studies at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He recently graduated with his MA in Clinical Psychology.
